Barbara Bieraugel Designs offers quilt designs for you from Hawaii. The applique and pieced quilt patterns are often tropical or nature inspired.  Realistic applique patterns offer you colorful tropical fish, butterfly, flowers, sea turtle or honu, and even a couple of giraffes.  Many of the Hawaiian quilt patterns were designed from those flowers in my gardens here in Kailua Kona, Big Island, Hawaii.  

Hawaii Quilt Retreat 2013 Quilt Passions, Kailua Kona, Big Island, Hawaii will be holding their fourth annual Hawaii quilting retreat, Quilting on the Beach, Feb. 1-9, 2013.  Check the Quilt Passions web site for more information. Flyers should be available in July.  I will be teaching two classes at this retreat.  They will be bringing in some national teachers to add to the fun of the event.  ALOHA

There are now Hawaiian Applique Pillow Kits with the applique already cut out for you available in the catalog.  There are a variety of fabrics to choose from and then you chose your design that you want:  Your choices are: Pineapple, Hibiscus Honu, Bird of Paradise, Angel's Trumpet, Breadfruit or Hibiscus. If you do not see fabrics that you like or want to change the combination of fabrics just send me a request and I will see if I can fill it.

New Hawaiian Applique Patterns  Hawaiian Applique Squares is the second in a series of Hawaiian 18" designs.  This pattern contains Torch Ginger, Ginger, Heliconia and Orchid.  You can also purchase the designs individually.  Check out the catalog

Quilting should be an enjoyable experience. I have tried to offer you patterns with complete step by step instructions that you can understand. The applique patterns that I offer all include full size patterns for the applique and show a full quilt layout. Most of the applique instructions given are for hand applique but other methods will work just as well. The patterns can be appliqued to be realistic in coloration or as bright and wild as you want them, since they will be yours and for you to enjoy!
